Our mission
The Corporation des assureurs directs de dommages (CADD), which was formed in 1991, represents 11 direct property and casualty insurance companies currently active in Quebec accounting for over 68% of the personal-lines damage insurance sales volume in the province. CADD’s mission is to support its members and increase awareness of their work among various political, regulatory and socioeconomic stakeholders in the industry. It focuses on highlighting, protecting and promoting the strengths and advantages of its members’ distribution model for the benefit of consumers.

Quebec P&C insurance industry:
- 163 insurers are licensed to operate in Quebec: 44 are based in Quebec, 65 are based in other Canadian provinces, and 54 are based in foreign countries.
Market share:
- Quebec-based insurers hold 42% of market share in Quebec.
- In auto insurance, direct insurers hold 66% of market share.
- In home insurance, direct insurers hold 72% of market share.
Economic benefits of the industry:
- Nearly 40,000 direct and indirect jobs, 18,000 of which are direct jobs
- $3.8B in economic benefits
- $450M in taxes paid each year
- $367M paid in employment insurance and health service fund contributions
- $3.1M paid in community involvement
